Thank God you're fine and, hopefully, you will be back sailing again soon!...

I am a retired ophthalmologist from Brazil, now living for 13 years or so in Ft. Lauderdale.

In Brazil I used to have a small sail boat shared with a friend of mine, but was nothing compared to yours...

I'd like to learn more about going to crew with you, so when you have the time, I deeply appreciate you to provide me with the information in regards joining the crew. Or, if you know of anybody else who also accepts people interested in making part of the crew to help, let me know.

Thanks a lot for your time and attention and wish you the best and prompt recover.

O.Schwarz, os1248 at gmail dot com.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06896129235938296643noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8206596288448971164.post-59033977587522853402012-06-15T20:57:17.887-07:002012-06-15T20:57:17.887-07:00Hi Max, I'm sure you don't remember me but...Hi Max, I'm sure you don't remember me but I was in the Class of "76". My Dad George Girard opened a little boat shop with your help at the Fairgrounds in Antioch.
I sailed one of those little Banchi sailboats and damn near sunk it in the river I had no experience whatsoever and took it out alone, a big gust came up and broke the keel board and subsequently capsized the boat, a motor boat came along and towed me in on its side. That was the end of my sailing career, that is if you don’t count my time on The Constellation a Kennedy Class Carrier.
Anyway I woke up this morning to hear your name on the news; I'm sorry about your boat but glad that you made it through.
Reading your blog is amazing; all the places you've seen. It's good to see people living their passions.
I hope to do a coast to coast and back cycling tour in the next few years, before I'm too old. Reading your story gives me hope, and motivation.

Cheers, and clear sailing,
Richard Girard
rrgirard@gmail.comconfusedonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11422245631723786860noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8206596288448971164.post-36835667124317192552011-03-24T01:06:47.777-07:002011-03-24T01:06:47.777-07:00After I saved your site to my bookmarks I'm no...After I saved your site to my bookmarks I'm now looking at it more often. I love the pictures and to read about your adventures. I'm a sailor too and it's my dream to do as you are doing... at the moment I am raising my children, they are in Swiss schools and I struggle with the thoughts of taking them out and giving them the world adventure. The cautious side of me never wants to put them in harms way, so for now I wait....and I read.I am envious of your journey wishing I was there not just because you visit such extraordinary places but you've made great relationships with the crew and people along the way. People make life good too, it seems you've built many bridges between many places and special people. Hope your journeys continue... I'd love to read more and maybe see you sailing somewhere?
